Here in Pennsylvania, it’s felt like summer on and off for a while, so even though it’s not quite June, I’ve decided to give in.
Fine, Summer, I relent. You’re here. Hurrah. *waves sad, pathetic flag weakly*
Summer is my least favorite season, and always has been, but I think over the years I’ve come to appreciate it more. I’ve never been a fan of the heat and the constant sweating, but I’ve always been a fan of nature, and there are flowers this time of year like no other.
I will still probably be in my air-conditioned writing den as much as possible. But maybe I’ll force myself out for a hike or a swim or two.
New Book Updates
My next novel has finished the drafting process, (woo hoo!) and it now begins the arduous journey to becoming a Real Novel in the Real World.
The steps going forward include:
- Beta readers reading and sharing their thoughts (WE ARE HERE.)
- RKT (that’s me) considering the feedback and making changes
- My editor having a go at every vague pronoun antecedent, unclear description, and missing hyphen
- RKT (Me) fixing all my mistakes… and then doing it again… and then again… and then…
- Formatting and marketing and publishing!
This process still involves lots of time (and frankly money) but it will be worth it!
I am ready, however, to share the title of the new novel which hasn’t exactly been top secret, but I also don’t think I’ve shared it anywhere before…
So the next book is titled *drumroll please* …

It feels fitting to announce this book now, since it’s set during a rainy, humid, hot month of summer in a glorious forest setting… I can’t wait to share more about it.
But until then, here’s a little bit of a taste of what’s to come… Vibes, as the kids say.
